As opposed to slot games, casino table games require skill, focus and a bit of luck in order to come out ahead. At online casinos, players can choose from a full range of casino card and table games and play online for free or for real money. One of the most popular games both online and in land based casino’s is craps. This high-stakes dice game has offers huge payouts and exiting betting option with each game. In the notes below, we take a look at how the game works and how you can start playing online.

How Online Craps Works?

If you are familiar with the game, the good news is that online craps is played in exactly the same way as you would play in a land-based casino. For those players who are new to the game, the basic concept of this casino game is quite simple. The entire game is based on the outcome of a roll of a set of dice. The game does however have a reasonably complicated betting system that allows for multiple bets to be place on any roll. It is advised that new players play online for free and learn the basics of the game before swapping over to playing for real money. The game is played on a large betting table that has marking for the betting area as well as a section where the dice is rolled.

Starting the Game

A game of online craps begins with the player (called the shooter) placing his or her bet on the table. This can be done by clicking on the chips as the bottom of the screen and placing them in the betting area. The player then starts the game by throwing a pair of dice onto the table. In the online version, this is done by clicking on the “Roll” button. This first roll is called the come out roll. Based on the total of the dice, three things can happen at this point. The player either wins their bet, loses their bet or gets to roll again. In the first instance, if the player rolls a combined total of either 7 or 11, they automatically win their bet.

Making the Point Number

If the player rolls a 2, 3 or 12, this is called “craps” and the player loses their bet. If the player rolls any of the other numbers either 4,5,6,8,9,10 this means the player has made the point number. From this point onwards, the player must try and roll the same point number again. If the player succeeds, they will win their bet. However, if the player rolls a 7 before they roll the point number again, they will lose their bet. In both the online and land-based version of the game, there are a number of different betting options players can choose from. It is not necessary to know all the different craps bets and players can generally get started with a (Pass Line) bet as well as a (Come Bet).
